Delivery of WPF process & control components for VJU Studio - iCsys AS
Our team is given the assignment to produce a series of process & control components for the VJU Studio software suite developed by iCsys in Stavanger. EATOPS is honoured to renew its collaboration with iCsys and the Envirex Group to participate in the development of this ambitious software platform. Our small, flexible software squad is committed to bring its 15-years of experience in .NET technologies applied to remote control systems design to the table. We feel responsible for end-to-end delivery and integration of every single component.
This plugin-based VJU Studio IDE is with no doubt a game-changer for the Norwegian process & control industry. For more information visit iCsys AS website.
Product launch - Sequence Builder IEC/PAS 63131
EATOPS releases Sequence Builder, a CAD editor to draw electrical drawings according to the IEC/PAS 63131:2017 guideline on System Control diagrams - SCD and Sequence drawings. This computer aided-design software promotes a unified model (AutomationML) to freely exchange the technical specification drawings within the Siemens and ABB software IDEs.
Unlike, its Microsoft Visio predecessor, the new Sequence Builder approach is collaborative. Engineers can develop the technical specifications together placing comments on the drawings and converge towards a unified tag database.
Delivery of a software platform to crunch engineering drawings into an AI*
This FFP contract is delivered following the Minimum-Viable-Product development method. The customer is put in a GO / NOGO position after 8 weeks to limit his initial investment and take the strategic decision to GO-AHEAD with an extended scope. EATOPS is an experienced software house able to mitigate the risks in the early design phase.
Delivery of 7 dashboards for a Space mission to the Moon 🌎....🚀..........🌙
Our software team recently completed a major delivery for one of our special “New Space” customers. The scope of the contract included the design & development of (x7) control panels for an automatic mission to the surface of the Moon - the launch is scheduled for May 2022.
The Moon is one thousand times further than the International Space Station, estimated travel time 84 hours.
Design of a complete dashboard for Man-In-Water search & rescue operations
Our engineering team is pleased to deliver a man-in-water search and rescue technical solution combining GPS tracking, man-overboard detection for Datamatik AS. The system is entirely based on Motorola Solutions radio equipment (DMR and Wave).
Automate your PLC workflow
APPLY integrates an digital twin technology into its automation workflow to meet with the new quality standards of the Industry (IEC61131-3).
EATOPS developed an automated workflow for APPLY using its skill-set in software automation to script the entire engineering process of a control system. This software toolkit considerably improves the quality of the control system. APPLY is now a position to deliver control systems of a new generation, involving a high level of robotisation, a digital-twin, interoperability with many PLCs issued from different brands.
A special export to AML (automation modeling language) feature put APPLY in a position to promote its workflow with larger industrials such as Equinor, Aibel and Kongsberg.
November 1st 2021 - New Delivery to AkerBP
Our team completed the delivery of the automation design specifcation drawings for the Valhall new desulfurization unit. By renewing its trust in the company, AkerBP is promoting its standardization of its digitalization strategy (following IEC PAS 63131). EATOPS delivered the SCDs and Sequence drawings using its Drawing Code software platform with direct AML (automation modeling language) export features.

Product Update - Alarm Dispatch for Radios
Alarm dispatch for radios support Motorola Solutions DMR radio networks.
Technology Transfer
EATOPS continuously participates to a transfer of technology from the Space industry to the Offshore oil & gas industry. For more information please contact ttp@eas.int or visit https://www.esa.int/
EATOPS Best wishes for 2019!
We live in 2019, a world in which remote operations are accessible even to small businesses. The software technologies that have emerged from the Man-on-the-Moon missions are now broadly used in many industries. During last year, EATOPS delivered it’s first miniROV remote control room, leading us to an ocean of opportunities. We are all very excited to wish you a Happy New Year!
How to display safety critical information without overwhelming the operators?
At the age of digitalization, software automation engineers have a stronger responsibility to NOT implement front-ends that are overwhelming for the operators. "An alarm message can be seen as a short telegram sent to the operator to inform him of a fault".
Such a message should be - as compact - as visual - as clear - as intelligent - as possible. RIVOPS is an alarm page for the control room. It shall grasp the attention of the operator for just a few seconds (<3s) and send its telegram message across the HMI displays of the control room. RIVOPS is nothing else than a smart OPC Alarm Client, it renders a dynamic representation for each fault scenario. That image is computed in real-time for any given alarm list. It contains an alarm banner compliant with the #OPCUA, #EMUA191, ISA 18.2 specifications. For those who believe that showing an image tells more than a hundred words, follow that link.
EATOPS builds control rooms equipped with an Alarm Summary overlaying Alarm Banners on the top of a 3D representation of the plant. The RIVOPS technology is able to display an OPC Alarm Message from an automatic-fault-scenario function running on the PLC. (compatible with #Siemens 400, 1200 and 1500 series).
Control Room - Subsea ROV
EATOPS is commissioned to deliver a control room for small underwater drone operations using the 4G network. Our roadmap include early testing using the MavLink protocol, OPCUA high performance implementation and DDS.
Send a VHF command to take a picture in low-orbit - Swisscube Mission
The Swisscube mission is known for the being the first Swiss spacecraft mission. EATOPS joined that effort and operated the spacecraft from the Noordwijk CubeSat ground station (KD2AMA) facility.
ESD control philosophy
Writing an ESD control philosophy for the Liza-1 field development project (ExxonMobil).
Smart use of scripting languages
Whereas the Industry is facing a digitalisation of its plants, EATOPS makes use of scripting languages to produce a robust PLC logic and build virtual piplines that control physical parts.
The code is consistent across multiple installations and highly reliable thus produce by a script rather than a human hand which could make mistakes.
AutoGen serves an even broader ambition at embedding articifical intelligence ruling into the PLC code and publishing industrial OPC UA data over the internet (IIOT).
Remote Portable Emergency Shutdown switch
EATOPS deploys a safety critical system on the Coral South FLNG installation. This portable Emergency Shutdown system is responsible to protect the 1-billion USD vessel during its operations along the coastline of Mozambique. The portable-ESD-switch is using the ATEX Motorola radios (DP4801 Ex) carried by the crew members to allow an emergency shutdown from any location on the deck. This technical solution was selected by TechnipFMC to improve the safety onboard during the gas transfer between the FLNG and the offshore tankers approaching the installation.
Our eatops engineers will join forces with Nokia Korea during the commissioning phase and sea trials at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea (Q2-2021).
Meet us at Spaceport Norway - June 19-21st 2017
EATOPS will give a presentation in Stavanger (N) on automatic code generation for onboard control systems. More on Spaceport Norway web portal.
Automatic code generation unlocks a whole new range of control software features such as: fault scenario recognition and dynamic alarm grouping (ISA 18.2, EEMUA 191).
Write code that writes code
Embedded code generation is fundamentally changing the way engineers work. Instead of writing thousands of lines of code by hand, engineers are automatically generating their production code to increase productivity, improve quality, and foster innovation. EATOPS uses an excel definition of the equipment list to automatically generate the source-code of the control panel most time-consuming components.
AutoGen is a product of Ergonomics Applied To OPerationS, EATOPS AS
